About Thames Water

Thames Water is the UK’s largest Water and Waste Water provider. It is estimated that they supply around 2, 600 million litres of tap water to homes both in London and the Thames Valley. It is a private utility company that is responsible for the Water Supply of the majority of London. It was first established in the early 17th century, although it had a number of other company names before it became Thames Water in 1973 (full name: The Thames Water Authority). In 1989 it was privatised as Thames Water Utilities Limited. It has over 100 water treatment works.
