STA Travel

STA Travel is a travel agent that caters specifically to students looking for adventures. The reason that STA Travel is the most popular travel company for students is that it was set up by two students, so it knows what they look for in their post-university adventures. The other thing that makes STA Travel unique is the Travel Experts, who often spend their spare time having adventures themselves, so they really know what they are talking about. STA Travel always guarantees to beat any competitors prices and if they can’t, they will give you £1000 credit towards your trip. You can book a STA Travel holiday by going to your local store, by visiting the website or by calling the STA Travel helpline number on this page.

Here are some of the destinations that STA Travel offers adventures to:

  • Sydney
  • Los Angeles
  • Bangkok
  • New Zealand
  • China
  • Africa
  • Australasia
  • Latin America

You can choose to book a flight independently and make your own itinerary or go on a tour. You can often secure flights and trips with a small deposit which gives you time to budget towards your adventure.

STA Travel Flights

STA Travel offers flights to a range of destinations around the world. The flights are generally very affordable and are covered by STA Travel’s price match guarantee. Flights are available from a range of airlines including Qatar Airlines, Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Etihad Airways, British Airways and Turkish Airlines. You can currently secure your flights with a deposit of just £49. You can also purchase a Multiflex Pass which allows you to easily change the dates of your flights using an online form and for no extra fees unless the new flight is more expensive than the original. You can purchase an unlimited change pass for £99 which allows you to make as many changes as you wish, so you can extend a stay in a particular area or get to another faster.

STA Travel Tours

You can book adventure tours through STA Travel. Tours are available in Europe, Australia, Asia, North America, Latin America, Africa and Morocco. You can choose from a number of different routes and ticket types to suit your trip needs and your budget. Students and people under the age of 30 will get the best priced tickets thanks to BlueTicket fares which are exclusive to STA Travel. Multi-stop tickets cost less than round the world tickets so these are ideal for people on a budget. Some of the round the world flight routes include:

About STA Travel

STA Travel was first founded in 1976 by Dick Porter and a fellow student who had just returned from a round the world trip. The business became STA Travel in 1979. It expanded into several different countries and by 2013, there were STA Travel branches in 12 countries.

In 2014, the Student Travel Association name was disbanded and the acronym STA now stands for ‘Start the Adventure’ so that the company is more open to people over the age of 26.
