Santander Helpline Opening Hours
Santander is a personal, business and corporate bank. In terms of personal banking, the bank is perhaps most well known for its 123 current account but it also provides other financial services such as credit cards, loans, savings accounts, mortgages and investments. There are lots of different ways to bank with Santander- you can visit your local branch, go to the website, call the automated telephone banking line or download the mobile app free of charge. If you wish to switch your current account to a Santander account, it couldn’t be easier. It takes just seven days to switch with a dedicated team to handle the transfer of your salary and Direct Debits and you will be consistently updated on the progress of the switch. You could even get a fee-free overdraft for the first four months when you switch.
If you’re a first-time buyer, looking to move home or want to buy a property to rent out, there is a Santander mortgage that will suit your needs. If your current mortgage deal is coming to an end, you can submit an online transfer request or call Santander to hear their best deals. You could also borrow more from Santander against your home to help you fund a new project or event, with a lump sum of £5000+ available. With Santander, you will be able to manage your mortgage entirely online – see the balance you have outstanding, how long you have left on your term, when your next payment is due, your current interest rate and your payment transactions over the course of the last year.
Santander Credit Card
There are three Santander credit card options to choose from. The cards tend to cover all bases from affordable fees when you travel to spreading the cost of purchases and balance transfers. The All in One card gives you 0% interest on balance transfers for the first 40 months. You also won’t be charged a foreign transaction fee when you spend abroad and you can earn cashback. The Everyday credit card is designed to help you spread the cost of both smaller and larger purchases. Lastly, the Zero credit card has no monthly fees and no fees to pay when you spend money abroad.
There are several options for personal loans from Santander. You could get yourself a car, embark on a home improvement project, plan a wedding or go on a holiday of a lifetime. You could also use a debt consolidation loan to put all of your debts in one place. Your application is subject to a credit check and Santander 123 account holders will get a preferential interest rate over new customers. You must also be aged over 21 to be eligible for a loan.
The Santander 123 account comes in two forms: the standard account and the lite account. The Standard account costs £5 and it allows you to earn cashback on your household bills, access to special deals from Santander as well as basic features of a current account. To qualify for cashback you must pay £500 into your account each month and have two Direct Debits. The Lite account has a £1 monthly fee and gives you cashback on your household bills as well as preferential rates on Santander products. It’s a paper-free account which means that you must manage it through online/mobile banking. The same qualification applies to the Lite account, so you must pay £500 each month into the account and have two Direct Debits taken from it.
Santander Student Account
If you are currently in higher education, you could benefit from one of Santander’s student accounts. The 123 Student Account gives you a free 16-25 railcard, the opportunity to earn interest on your balance and a fee-free overdraft. There is also an account specifically for international students for students who have come to the UK to study. Once you graduate, there are two account options. If you are going into a postgraduate study, you could opt into a postgraduate account which has the same benefits as an undergraduate account. If you’re stepping out into the world of work, a graduate account can help you adjust with an interest-free, fee-free overdraft and interest on your balance.
Online banking is a great way to manage your Santander account or service. You can check your balance, send payments, change your information, sign up for offers or inform Santander that you will be using your card abroad.
In 2016, Santander was awarded the Business Bank of the Year 2016 by Moneyfacts. The bank aims to help small-medium sized businesses get their company off the ground with a straightforward bank account and other services such as savings accounts, insurance and loans. For larger businesses, there is a corporate division where a dedicated relationship manager will help you to oversee your finances.
Santander arrived in the UK in 2010 following the merger of Abbey National, Bradford & Bingley, and Alliance & Leicester – three former building societies. There are approximately 14 million Santander customers, over 1000 branches and 20,000 employees.
