Nationwide is a UK Building Society that was first established in 1848 and is now the world’s largest of its kind. The Nationwide head office is based in Swindon and there are administration centres based in Bournemouth, Northampton and Dunfermline. Nationwide Current Accounts
Nationwide Building Society have a range of current accounts so that you can choose one that suits you and your financial needs. All of their current account options can be viewed on their website. Whether you like those extra benefits with your bank account, or whether you just want to keep your banking straightforward and simple, Nationwide has an account for all preferences. The FlexPlus current account was awarded by Moneynet as the best packaged current account in 2015 and is perfect for those that like to travel as it offers worldwide travel insurance, a 3% AER variable in credit interest on balances up to £2500 and UK & European Breakdown and Recovery Assistance. If a basic current account is more your thing, you can open the simpler FlexAccount for no monthly fee, it also offers free travel insurance and a three month interest free overdraft of this is something that you think you might need. Nationwide have also considered the younger ones with their FlexOne account available exclusively to 11-17 year olds which has no fees or charges, a choice of either cash or debit card and no overdraft until the customer turns 18 years of age. If you are a new student and are looking at your banking options, there is nothing better than the Nationwide FlexStudent account that provides an interest free overdraft of up to £3000, access to the mobile banking app and free mobile text alerts are optional.
