Metro Bank is the newest bank in the UK and it is aiming to change the way that banks operate. Every branch keeps late opening hours and many other benefits. If you need assistance with a Metro Bank service, call the Metro Bank helpline.
Metro Bank has a straightforward current account with no frills. There’s no monthly fee for your account and you can get started straight away when you go into your local branch as they will be able to print your card there and then. If you’re travelling abroad, you won’t pay any fees for withdrawing cash or using your card in Europe. It takes just seven days to switch your account to a Metro Bank account. To open a Metro Bank account, you just need to be over the age of 18 and a UK resident.
If you don’t need a current account or you are under the age of 18, you can sign up for a cash account. There are no standing orders or direct debits so you just use your card to withdraw cash and buy online. You also won’t be able to use your card outside of the UK and you won’t be able to become overdrawn.
There are several different savings account options available from Metro Bank. If you want to be able to access your savings easily, an instant access account is ideal for you. You could also open an instant access tax-free ISA to take advantage of the tax-free savings allowance given to you by the Government. If you’re saving towards a goal, a fixed rate ISA for a period of 1, 2, 3 or 5 years will be suitable for you. You could also open a Young Savers Account to help save towards your child’s future.
Safe deposit box
You can rent a safe deposit box from Metro Bank and thanks to their extended opening hours, you will be able to access it every day of the week. You can use the boxes to store jewellery, documents or antiques and prices vary depending on the size of the box that you want. If you just need the box for a couple of months, Metro Bank won’t charge you any extra. Just make sure that your local store has a safe deposit box by calling the helpline.
