The company’s origins go back to the Rhino Group, founded in 1991-1992. Throughout mergers and acquisitions the company’s stores changed names multiple times, from Future Zone to Electronic Boutiques to the 2002 re-brand as the name we know today, Game (stylised as GAME).

At its highest point GAME had 609 stores in the UK. After going into administration in 2012, over 200 GAME stores are still going strong. GAME is still one of the most recognisable high street retailers for selling games, consoles, and accessories, as well as its trade-in service for pre-owned games.
