The Co-Operative Travel
The Co-Operative Travel is a large travel agency based in the UK. They offer customers package deals of flights and hotels in one price, which helps customers pay off their holiday easier. You can book Co-Operative Travel holidays online, over the phone (by calling the helpline number on this page) or by visiting your local branch of Co-Operative Travel, where a friendly travel agent will be waiting to assist you with your booking.
The Co-Operative Travel provides holidays to a range of popular destinations including:
- Canary Islands
You can search for your holiday by destination or by the type of holiday. For instance, you can currently search for summer 2017 holidays, winter sun, city breaks or all inclusive. You’ll also find last-minute deals as well as the advance options. You’ll be shown prices for the cost of the flight and the hotel, but you have the option to add extras such as car hire.
If you are unsure of which destination you would like to visit, each destination has a page of resort information which takes you through the different areas where you can stay, as well as a fact file with the flight time, currency, average temperature and top tips for visiting.
If you would enjoy a city break to the likes of Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris or Prague, the Co-Operative Travel can offer you this. You will still be able to see resort information which will give you the lowdown on the best places to stay, attractions to visit and more.
The Co-Operative Travel can help you find your perfect cruise holiday, with over 30 different providers for you to choose from. You can opt for a Mediterranean cruise or sail to somewhere more exotic like Australia, the Caribbean or the USA.
There are several different styles of cruises. Smaller cruises offer a more romantic feel for couples, whereas larger cruise providers such as P&O are great for families thanks to the extensive entertainment programme. Royal Caribbean Celebrity cruises are perfect for people who are looking for a slice of luxury with their holiday thanks to gourmet dining options and the spa treatments on offer.
In order to make your holiday as stress-free as possible, the Co-Operative Travel offers a range of extras. They include airport hotels if your flight is early, airport parking if you’re driving to your departure airport, resort transfers once you arrive, car hire for when you arrive at your destination, resort services if you need help in your destination or foreign currency with the cash passport travel money card.
You can book your travel extras online or over the phone by calling the Co-Operative Travel helpline.
The Co-Operative Travel Deal Finder is ideal if you are flexible with your destination and departure dates. You can choose which airport you would like to depart from and choose your destination if you would prefer (or leave it blank). You can choose how much you would like to pay and you will be shown a range of deals for flight and hotel bookings. You can also choose the duration and board basis, but be aware that the more filters you apply, the more limited your search result will be.
Ways to Pay
Once you have selected which booking you would like, you can add extras such as luggage, in-flight meals, airport transfers and airport parking. Once you have added these, you will be taken to checkout where you will be asked for the passport details of people travelling. You can opt to pay a deposit or the full balance of your holiday – if you pay a deposit, the full balance is due 12 weeks before you are due to depart. You can pay by Visa, MasterCard or Maestro and every payment is secure.
Co-Operative Travel Money
You can order your foreign currency online at the Co-Operative Travel – just reserve online and collect in your local Co-Operative Travel store. Ordering online allows you to guarantee your currency at the best rates. Currencies available include US dollar, Euro, Swiss Franc, Canadian Dollar, Australian Dollar and UAE Dirham. If you’re ordering a large amount of currency and you don’t fancy carrying around plenty of notes, you can opt for a cash passport. You load a card with a currency and use ATMs or pay by card when you are abroad. If your card is lost/stolen whilst you’re away, the Co-Op Travel will aim to get you a replacement whilst you are away or they will send you emergency cash. The cash passport uses chip and PIN like a normal card.
About Co-Operative Travel
The Co-Operative Travel can trace its origins back to 1905 when the Co-Operative Wholesale Society first began providing excursions. By the 1950s, it had become one of the five largest travel agencies in Britain and made its first move into air travel.
The company became known as Travelcare in 2000, before merging with the Co-Op Travel subsidiary of United Co-Operatives in 2007 to get the current name.
Today, the Co-Operative Travel acts as a joint venture between Thomas Cook Group, the Co-Operative Group and Central England Co-Operative. The company is ATOL-protected and is a member of ABTA.
