BT was first founded in 1969, the name British Telecoms first originated in 1980 and it was privatised four years later. Today, BT supplies broadband, landline and TV services to around 18 million people in the UK. In 2015, BT acquired EE, a large mobile phone network for the price of £12.5 billion. BT Infinity is BT’s version of super fast, fibre optic broadband. It’s ideal if you are a busy household who does a lot of streaming, watching things in HD or gaming online. BT Infinity has unlimited usage so that you never need to worry about hitting your download limit, leaving you to stream the latest blockbusters and take advantage of Netflix’s new download feature to your heart’s content. As well as your broadband package, you can add BT TV to watch films, box sets and have the option to add Netflix. It’s really easy to switch to BT Infinity. You can choose which package you would like online, or by calling the BT Infinity helpline. BT will aim to switch you over within two weeks, but for Virgin Media customers, it is recommended that you don’t tell Virgin Media you want to switch until your BT broadband is up and running, in order to minimise the chance of losing your service. You can connect your Home Hub (BT router) yourself and it has been designed to fit through your letterbox so you don’t even need to be in for the delivery. You can call 0843 557 3564 ask about switching or to switch to BT Infinity.
