BT Infinity is BT’s version of super fast, fibre optic broadband. It’s ideal if you are a busy household who does a lot of streaming, watching things in HD or gaming online. BT Infinity has unlimited usage so that you never need to worry about hitting your download limit, leaving you to stream the latest blockbusters and take advantage of Netflix’s new download feature to your heart’s content. As well as your broadband package, you can add BT TV to watch films, box sets and have the option to add Netflix. You’ll also get BT Sport, BT’s dedicated sporting channel, free of charge so that you can watch the latest Premier League matches and other big sporting events.
It’s really easy to switch to BT Infinity. You can choose which package you would like online, or by calling the BT Infinity helpline. BT will aim to switch you over within two weeks, but for Virgin Media customers, it is recommended that you don’t tell Virgin Media you want to switch until your BT broadband is up and running, in order to minimise the chance of losing your service. You can connect your Home Hub (BT router) yourself and it has been designed to fit through your letterbox so you don’t even need to be in for the delivery.
BT Infinity Checker
BT Infinity has speeds of up to 76mb, but the speed that you get depends on what is available in your area. You may only get 52mb, which is still super fast. The speed that you get also depends on which package you choose – Infinity 2 is more expensive but is faster than Infinity 1. You can check the availability of BT Infinity in your area here.

BT Infinity Availability
BT Infinity is rolling out it’s fibre-optic connection in many parts of the UK, but if you are still unsure whether you can get it in your area, you can use BT’s broadband speed checker to check. You’ll need to know your postcode, house number and landline. Once you enter this information, BT will tell you if Infinity is available in your area, and if so, what type of speeds you can expect. BT might contact you if you can get Infinity in your area – if you don’t want them to, uncheck the box next to the broadband checker. You can find the checker here.
