Acer Laptops

Acer specialises in the notebook style of laptops which are easier to carry around but still have a powerful processor. Here is a breakdown of some the current laptops available from the Acer range:

The Swift range of laptops is super thin and stylish. The Swift 1 has a 14-inch screen with HD functionality, a 14-hour battery life and MU-MIMO 802.11ac technology for a faster connection. The Swift 3 has a glamorous wrapped metal finish available in gold or silver – it also has a 10-hour battery life, fast wireless performance and a full 14 inch HD display. The Swift 5 has a 13-hour battery life, five times faster download speeds, high-quality audio and a fingerprint reader. The Swift 7 is the thinnest laptop yet with a matte black exterior but it doesn’t compromise on performance, with nine hours of battery life, fast wireless speeds, a 13.3 inch HD display, and Dolby Audio Premium.

The Spin range of computers is convertible. The Spin 3 has a 15″ screen and four modes to choose from – laptop, tablet, display or tent, so it can change to suit your needs. The Spin 5 has a 360° hinge so that you can bend the device however you wish. It also has 10 hours of battery life, a full HD display and Acer TrueHarmony audio.

Aspire S

The Aspire S range is designed to be stylish but powerful. The Aspire S7 is a premium version of an Ultrabook with 5th generation Intel Core processors, an 8.5-hour battery life, wireless technology, a weight of only 1.3kg, a WQHD screen and a light-sensing keyboard backlight. The Aspire S 13 is a thin 13″ laptop with a nano-imprinted surface, a long battery life, HD resolution and Dolby audio technology.

The Switch is Acer’s second range of laptops which convert into tablets. The Switch 10 E has an Intel Atom processor and can automatically switch from laptop to tablet mode. It also comes in a range of colours including pink, orange, blue and purple. The Switch 10 has improved hinges so that you can attach the screen quicker, a USB C port for the fast transfer of data and a sleek, professional metallic exterior. The Switch Alpha 12 has a full sized keyboard, and a liquid cooled CPU which in turn gives you a silent performance when using the laptop.

Acer Drivers

You will need to regularly download drivers to keep your laptop up-to-date. You can find the appropriate drivers for your device by typing in your serial number, SNID or model number. You can find the serial number and SNID on the white label underneath your laptop. On a desktop, you will find them on a white label located on the right-hand side of your tower.  You can also download drivers by selecting your device category (e.g. notebook, Chromebook, tablet, desktop) or, if you have a Windows operating system, you can download software which automatically detects your device information.
