Access to Work Helpline

Call the Access to Work helpline number if you want to know more about the Access to Work scheme and how it works. You can reach Access to Work on the phone during working hours by calling the number. They do not provide services themselves, but they can guide you towards mental health support services and provide financial support to help you with the costs of support services if you are eligible for a grant.

Access to Work Eligibility

To check whether you would be eligible for an Access to Work grant, call this number before you apply. You must either be in paid employment, or be about to start or return to a paid job. The amount of support that Access to Work can offer will be based on your personal needs. You may not be eligible for the grant if you are already receiving certain benefits from the government, depending on how many hours you work.

Access to Work Application

To find out how you can apply for the Access to Work scheme, or to get help with your application at any point in the process, call the helpline. If you want to apply over the phone, you will need to have some information to hand. This includes your work address and contact details, and the name of a work contact who can authorise your payments. You must explain what help you need and any help you already receive.

Access to Work Change in Circumstances

If you are receiving ongoing support through the Access to Work scheme, you need to keep them updated on your situation. Whenever your circumstances change, this could affect your eligibility or their ability to contact you and make payments. Call Access to Work on this number to report changes in contact details or job requirements. You must report any changes to your physical or mental health or travelling to work.

Access to Work Renewal

When your grant is due to expire, you should apply to renew it if you need the support to continue. You can apply to renew your Access to Work grant up to 12 weeks before its current end date. Call this number for help with renewing Access to Work. To renew it over the phone, you’ll need to provide your name, address, date of birth, and unique reference number. They will decide whether to offer a new grant and how much.

Access to Work Complaints

Whenever your situation changes, you can ask them to review your award to reflect new circumstances.
If your circumstances are the same but you do not agree with your initial award, you can ask for another adviser to reconsider it once. Other than this, you can call the helpline to make a complaint about the Access to Work scheme if you are unhappy with how things are being handled. You can also post letters to:
